Our History

Talbot Excavating Co. LLC was established in June of 2002 by Kyler Talbot. Talbot Excavating started small, doing small utility projects like water service and side sewer installations. Through Kyler’s hard work, a reputation of quality work and professionalism the business began to grow. In 2004, Kyle Devitt was hired as a Foreman to assist Kyler with managing the field. As the company continued to grow, Kyler brought on Ron Sisemore in 2005 as a Project Manager/Estimator to assist with overall management of the day-to-day operations.

During the 2008 recession, Kyler was able to keep the business going by funding and developing a piece of property he owned, allowing the core employees to continue working. Despite the recession, Talbot Excavating continued to grow. Finally achieving Kyler’s goal to be a full service civil and utility installation company.

Upon Kyler’s passing in 2017, he had requested that Ron, Kyle and Shelley Avery the company’s long tenured Office Controller take over as co-owners of the company to ensure that the name and its business continued to operate. With Ron, Kyle and Shelley at the helm, the business continued to flourish, never missing a beat.

By 2018, with plenty of larger plats as well as maintaining the residential side of the business, Talbot as a company grew to 25+ field employees, to include a Superintendent, a Project Engineer and a full time Mechanic to maintain its fleet of equipment and vehicles.

In 2024, Shelley decided it was time to move on, wanting something other than owning and managing a company. In 2025, after 21 years with the company, Kyle decided to retire leaving Ron as the sole owner.

To this day, Talbot Excavating Co. LLC maintains its Core Values established by its founder of Quality, Efficiency, Generosity and Professionalism.
